The progress of Dewanhat Mahavidyalaya hinges on the effective and efficient functioning of its institutional bodies, responsible for implementing policies and developmental strategies. The college boasts a robust administrative structure that ensures the smooth execution of its strategic plans, prioritizing student interests.

Governing Body (GB)

The Governing Body (GB) is the highest administrative authority, overseeing the college’s operations in conformity with the Statutes of Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University, UGC regulations, and guidelines from the Higher Education Department of the Government of West Bengal. The GB includes the Principal, representatives from teaching and non-teaching staff, students, and individuals nominated by the government and affiliating university. As a democratic body, the GB conducts regular meetings to enhance institutional quality and development.

Principal's Role

The Principal, as the Head of the institution, implements the decisions adopted by the GB with assistance from various committees, departmental heads, and non-teaching staff.

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

The IQAC is instrumental in formulating and implementing developmental strategies and plans in the academic and administrative domains of the college. It designs the Action Plan at the beginning of each academic year, based on stakeholder feedback, and ensures its implementation for quality enhancement. At the end of each session, the IQAC submits an Action Taken Report to assess progress.

Appointment and Service Rules

As a state government-aided institution, the college follows the service rules and appointment procedures for the Principal, teaching, and non-teaching staff as framed by the Higher Education Department of the Government of West Bengal and the UGC.

  • Start NCC Unit: Establish a National Cadet Corps unit.
  • Expand Infrastructure: Construct more classrooms and improve overall facilities.
